Original Part Numbers
Current number:
6601570
Previous number:
6699995
Previous starter housing number:
6684673
Therefore it's worth changing the old product name „Hitachi CS27 starter“. CS27 is not the full model name. Official catalogs use CS27EPA and CS27EPAP, and the starter itself fits a much wider group of Hitachi / HiKOKI models.
Before installation it is worth checking the starter pulley on the engine, the engagement dogs and their springs. They are separate parts, so a worn engagement mechanism may function poorly even after installing a new starter.
Screw the starter on evenly, and after installation pull the handle slowly several times. The mechanism should engage easily and the starter should fully rewind the rope back.
