This Stihl FS55 starter – a non-original manual starting mechanism designed for compatible Stihl FS55 brushcutters and trimmers. It is used when the old starter housing is damaged, the rope no longer winds up, the mechanism does not engage, or pulling does not turn the engine.
The starter corresponds to number 4140 190 4009 for compatible FS55 versions. In addition, it is supplied as an assembled unit, so there is no need to replace the starter rope, pulley, and return spring separately.

Before installation, check the starter coupling element on the engine. Also, make sure the engine turns freely and that internal damage is not causing resistance.
