This Husqvarna K970 cylinder kit is a 56 mm HYWAY TITANIKEL cylinder with a piston kit, intended for compatible Husqvarna K960 and K970 petrol cut-off saws. The cylinder has a side port for the decompression valve. OEM reference number: 544 93 56 02. HYWAY catalog code for this version is CK800139.
The cylinder working surface is coated with TITANIKEL. A matching piston and the main installation parts are supplied with it. The kit is used when repairing the cylinder assembly if the cylinder is scored, the piston is damaged or the piston rings are worn. This is an HYWAY aftermarket replacement kit, not an original Husqvarna part.
COMPATIBILITY
Husqvarna K960: versions using the corresponding 56 mm cylinder assembly with a side decompression port.
Husqvarna K970: versions using a compatible cylinder design with a side-mounted decompression valve.
This is the version with a side, not top, decompression port. Before ordering, compare the decompression valve location, cylinder base, intake flange and the original cylinder design. In the HYWAY catalog both decompression variants use the same reference number, so that number alone is not sufficient to select the correct part.
Compatibility applies to the specified cylinder design, not automatically to all generations and modifications of K960 or K970 models. The diameter of the cutting disc used also does not allow precise identification of the required engine part. Keep the old cylinder until you have compared it with the new kit.
KIT CONTENTS
The kit includes a 56 mm TITANIKEL cylinder, a matching piston, piston rings, piston pin and its retaining circlips. Use the cylinder and piston as a matched set. Check the cylinder base gasket, piston pin bushing and decompression valve separately when planning parts needed for the repair.
BEFORE INSTALLATION
Before disassembly, clean the exterior of the engine. Check the intake system, air filter, crankshaft bearings, seals and fuel supply. Determine the cause of the previous cylinder failure so that new parts are not installed without eliminating the remaining fault.
Protect the crankcase from abrasive dust and metal particles. Follow the piston and ring installation, cylinder sealing and bolt torque procedures specific to the model. After assembly, check engine sealing and carburetor adjustment before returning the machine to service.
