Gearbox for trimmer / brushcutter Oleo-Mac SP25 PRO

This Oleo-Mac Sparta 25 gearbox – a non-original complete lower right-angle gearbox assembly that replaces the original part 4160012AR.

The original 4160012AR gearbox is designed for a 26 mm diameter tube, and this version has a 7-tooth drive shaft coupling. Therefore when selecting the part you can check not only the model and original number, but also these two dimensions.

When to Replace the Gearbox

The gearbox should be replaced when there is excessive shaft play, you hear cracking or whining, the output shaft jams, or the cutting head begins to rotate unevenly.

Before installing a new gearbox also check the end of the drive shaft. If its teeth are worn or damaged, a new gearbox alone will not solve the problem.

Installation

Make sure the brushcutter tube is 26 mm and that the drive shaft end has 7 teeth. Slide the gearbox on fully so the shaft is fully engaged.

Before use, lubricate the gearbox with gear oil. Tighten the mounting screws evenly, and after assembly turn the output shaft by hand. It should rotate smoothly, without sticking or excessive play.
