What to Check Before Installing?
Before disassembling the engine check three key items:
The full model number of the unit
34 mm cylinder bore
The cylinder number 10103456532, 10103456031 or 10103456530Before installing a new cylinder assembly inspect the connecting rod upper needle bearing, crankshaft movement and the crankcase sealing surfaces. Also check the intake manifold, carburetor adjustment and the crankshaft oil seals. Air leaks or an excessively lean fuel mixture can damage the new piston and cylinder.
Clean the crankcase surfaces and prevent remnants of the old gasket from entering the engine. Install the piston in the correct orientation, set the rings according to their locating pins, and fit the cylinder without compressing the rings by force.
After assembly, rotate the crankshaft several times by hand. Before starting the engine the piston must move freely.
