When to Replace the Cylinder and Piston?

The cylinder and piston assembly should be replaced when the original parts are heavily worn or mechanically damaged.

    Most common damages:

Deep scratches on the cylinder wall
    Seized piston
Aluminum adhered to the cylinder wall
    Damaged piston
Reduced compression due to cylinder or piston wear

Before installing new parts, check the crankshaft, connecting rod, and the piston pin bearing.

It is also important to determine the cause of the old cylinder or piston damage. Incorrect carburetor adjustment, air leak in the intake system, damaged crankshaft seals, or an incorrect mixture of petrol and two-stroke oil can cause engine overheating.

Before assembly, thoroughly clean the crankcase surface. Install the piston in the correct orientation, and set the piston ring according to its locating pin.

After assembly, manually rotate the crankshaft several times. The piston should move freely through the full 33 mm stroke.
