Therefore, this 47mm kit should not be selected for a 029 Super chainsaw based solely on the model name. Instead, measure the removed cylinder and piston, check the decompression port construction and compare the number of the part already installed.

Before installation, check the crankshaft, connecting rod, upper connecting rod bearing and the crankcase sealing surfaces. Also determine the cause of the previous cylinder failure. A too-lean fuel mixture, clogged air filter, incorrectly adjusted carburetor, air leak or insufficient two-stroke oil can damage new parts.

Then thoroughly clean all mating surfaces. Old sealant, dirt or loosened materials may prevent the cylinder base from sealing properly. Prior to assembly, lubricate the piston, rings and the inside of the cylinder with clean two-stroke engine oil.

Install the piston in the correct orientation and insert both retaining rings fully. Also ensure that the piston ring gaps are positioned against their designated locating pins. After that, use the red silicone sealant according to the instructions on the package.
