Cylinder kit for STIHL MS200 / 200T petrol chainsaw

This Stihl MS200 cylinder kit with a 40mm cylinder is designed for compatible Stihl MS200 and MS200T petrol chainsaws. It can be used to replace a scratched cylinder, a damaged piston or a worn piston ring that has caused the engine to lose compression and power.

The kit corresponds to part number 1129 020 1202. However, parts used during different production periods may vary. Therefore, before ordering, compare the cylinder diameter, mounting points, intake connection, exhaust port and the overall construction with the removed parts.

Before installation, check the crankshaft bearings, connecting rod, needle bearing, oil seals and the intake system sealing. Also, thoroughly clean the mating surfaces and prevent contaminants from entering the engine.

When installing, lubricate the piston, ring and cylinder with two-stroke engine oil. Also check that the piston ring is installed in the correct direction and that both retaining rings are securely seated in the grooves.

After assembly it is recommended to check crankcase sealing and adjust the carburettor. Finally, warm up the engine gradually and avoid prolonged operation at high revs during the initial break-in period.
