Cylinder kit for STIHL MS180 chainsaw

This STIHL MS180 cylinder kit – 38mm „Winzor“ cylinder and piston assembly, intended for compatible STIHL 018 and MS180 petrol chain saws. It matches part code 1130 020 1208 and is suitable for replacing a worn or scratched cylinder and piston.

The kit includes:

The manufacturer used several cylinder versions for the STIHL 018 and MS180 saws. Therefore, before ordering check the cylinder diameter, port layout and the part code. This kit is not suitable for the smaller-diameter MS170 cylinder.

Check before installation

Before installation check the crankshaft bearings, connecting rod, oil seals and intake system. Also thoroughly clean the crankcase to prevent metal particles from entering the new cylinder.

An overly lean fuel mixture, a clogged air filter or a leaking intake joint can damage the new piston. Therefore, first eliminate the cause of the previous failure. After assembling the engine, check that the crankshaft rotates freely.
