  • This STIHL FS250 cylinder kit features a 40mm cylinder and matched piston parts, intended for compatible two-stroke STIHL brushcutters, trimmers, and pole pruners. It can be used to replace a scored cylinder, damaged piston, or a worn engine cylinder assembly. The kit corresponds to the original cylinder and piston group code 4134 020 1219.

    STIHL FS250 cylinder kit compatibility

    The 40mm cylinder assembly fits the following models that use part 4134 020 1219:

    STIHL FS120 and FS120R
    STIHL FS200 and FS200R
    STIHL FS250 and FS250R
    STIHL FS300
    STIHL FS350
    STIHL FS380
    STIHL FT250
    STIHL HT250

    Some of the listed models were produced with different cylinder versions. Therefore, before ordering check the 40mm cylinder diameter, the original part code, the mounting holes, the intake connection and the shape of the exhaust port. It is not sufficient to determine compatibility by device model alone.

    Parts included in the kit

    The package includes:

    40mm cylinder
    Piston
    Piston rings
    Piston pin
    Piston pin retaining rings
    Cylinder and muffler gaskets
    Red silicone engine sealant

    These parts are intended to replace the main engine cylinder and piston assembly. Additionally, the new gaskets allow assembling the engine without using old, already compressed sealing elements.

    Inspection before installation

    Before installation, check the crankshaft, connecting rod, piston pin needle bearing, crankshaft bearings and oil seals. Also clean the intake and exhaust passages and ensure the carburetor supplies the correct fuel mixture.

    An overly lean mixture, a clogged air filter, defective oil seals or impaired cylinder cooling can damage the new parts. Therefore, if the cause of the prior failure is unclear, check the crankcase sealing with pressure and vacuum testing.

    Before reassembly, lubricate the cylinder and piston. Then check the piston orientation, ring positioning and the installation of the retainers. Apply the sealant in a thin layer only to the designated sealing surfaces.
