Before installation check the crankshaft, the connecting rod's upper needle bearing, the crankshaft seals and the intake system for leaks. Air leakage or an improperly adjusted carburetor can overheat and damage the new cylinder and piston.

Before assembly clean the cylinder mounting surface. Install the piston in the correct orientation, set both rings according to their locating pins and fit the cylinder without forcing the rings.
