Carburetor suitable for Husqvarna 61 266 268 272XP chainsaws

This Husqvarna 272XP carburetor – a non-original diaphragm part intended for selected Husqvarna 61, 266, 268 and 272XP gasoline chainsaw versions. The carburetor meters the fuel and air mixture, so a worn part can make starting difficult, cause unstable idle or degrade engine performance under load.

The carburetor is associated with numbers 503 28 03-16 and 574 33 16-01. In Husqvarna technical information, number 574 33 16-01 is listed as a replacement for 503 28 03-16 for the respective 272XP version. However, different constructions were used during different production periods. Therefore, before ordering, be sure to compare the removed carburetor.

Before purchasing, compare the mounting hole spacing, intake opening, impulse channel, fuel connection, throttle mechanism and choke control. Also, check the old carburetor's number if it is still readable.

A faulty carburetor can make starting difficult, prevent maintaining idle, or cause power loss. However, similar symptoms can be caused by worn fuel lines, a clogged filter, a leaking intake manifold or crankshaft seals. Therefore, before replacing the carburetor, check the entire fuel and intake system.

When installing, use undamaged gaskets and do not block the impulse channel. After installation, also check the operation of the throttle and the choke. Finally, adjust the carburetor according to the specific saw's requirements, because an overly lean mixture can overheat the engine.
