Carburetor for STIHL 024, MS240, 026, MS260, MS260 Pro Chainsaws #1121 120 0612

This Stihl MS260 carburetor – a non-original diaphragm part, intended for selected newer-design Stihl 024, 026, MS240, MS260 and MS260 Pro petrol chainsaw versions. It corresponds to the later WT-427 type carburetors associated with part number 1121 120 0612.

Several carburetor variants were used across these Stihl model families. Therefore compatibility must be checked against the removed carburetor, the saw's production version and the layout of the connections. Some older saws use a different WT-426 type carburetor, associated with the number 1121 120 0611.

Before ordering, compare the mounting hole distances, the intake port, the fuel connector, the impulse channel, the throttle lever, the choke and the positions of the adjustment screws. Also check the marking of the old carburetor if it is still legible.

Hard starting, unstable idle and sluggish acceleration can indicate a carburetor fault. However, the same symptoms may be caused by a clogged fuel filter, a hardened fuel hose, tank venting failure, a leaky intake manifold or crankshaft seals. Therefore first check the entire fuel system.

When installing, use proper, undamaged gaskets and do not block the impulse channel. After installation, check the operation of the throttle and choke. Finally, adjust the idle speed and the fuel mixture according to the requirements of the specific saw.
