    When to Replace the Carburetor

The carburetor regulates the fuel-and-air mixture entering the engine. A worn or contaminated carburetor can cause:

    Hard starting
    Unstable idle
Engine stuttering when pressing the throttle
    Power loss
    Engine stalling
    Incorrect fuel mixture

Before replacing the carburetor it's worth checking the fuel filter, hoses, tank breather, intake joint and the pulse channel. Leaks or poor fuel supply can cause practically the same symptoms.

    Installation

When installing, make sure that the intake joint and gaskets seat correctly in their places. The throttle and choke mechanisms must move freely.

After installation, start the saw, warm up the engine and check idle, acceleration and operation under load. Adjust the carburetor according to the engine requirements.
