• Brushcutter / trimmer ignition coil Oleo-Mac SP25

  • This Oleo-Mac Sparta 25 ignition coil – a non-original ignition module designed for Oleo-Mac Sparta 25, Sparta 25 TR and Sparta 26 brushcutters.

In the current Sparta 25 parts catalogue the ignition coil number is 2501009R. Oleo-Mac parts data also uses the number 4138722R, which is associated with 2501009R. In the official spare parts data both numbers are listed for Sparta 25/26 ignition modules.

    Compatible Oleo-Mac models

    The coil is used on:

    Oleo-Mac Sparta 25
    Oleo-Mac Sparta 25 TR
    Oleo-Mac Sparta 26

    Original part numbers:

    2501009R
    4138722R

So the old marking „Oleo-Mac SP25 ritė“ is better changed to the proper model name Oleo-Mac Sparta 25. „SP25“ is a warehouse abbreviation, not something worth including in the standard product name.

    Ignition system

The standard Sparta 25 parts catalogue lists:

    Ignition coil 2501009R
    Flywheel 61030179R
    Spark plug boot 4098064R

The coil generates a high-voltage pulse for the spark plug when the flywheel magnet passes by it.

A faulty coil may stop producing a spark entirely, begin to perform poorly when hot, or cause the engine to stall unexpectedly. However, when repairing it is worthwhile to also check the spark plug, its boot, the kill switch lead and the connections, because those faults can produce very similar symptoms.

Before installation, clean the coil mounting surfaces and check the flywheel magnets. Mount the coil straight, and set the gap to the flywheel according to the manufacturer's technical specifications. The wires should be routed so that they do not touch the flywheel, the clutch, or hot engine parts.
