• Air filter for Honda GX35 brushcutter

  • This Honda GX35 air filter – a non-original filter element matching Honda part number 17211-Z0Z-000. It is an oval pleated filter installed inside the GX35 engine air filter housing.

The item for sale is the filter element shown in the product photos. Honda catalogs the filter housing and the external cover under separate numbers, therefore these parts are not included with the item.

    Honda GX35 Air Filter Compatibility

Fits the following Honda engines and equipment:

    Honda GX35
    Honda HHT35S
    Honda GX35NT
    Honda GX35NTX

Honda uses the same 17211-Z0Z-000 air filter element in the approved GX35, GX35NT and GX35NTX engine versions. The official HHT35S brushcutter parts catalog also lists this filter number.

The Honda HHT25S uses a different air filter number and is not included in this compatibility list.

    Honda Air Filter Numbers

    Key original part numbers:

    Air filter element: 17211-Z0Z-000
    Air filter housing: 17220-Z0Z-010
    Air filter cover: 17231-Z0Z-010

This item replaces only the 17211-Z0Z-000 filter element.

The housing, cover, fastening screws and bushings are separate parts. Therefore this filter is intended for repair when the existing housing and cover are serviceable and only the filter element needs to be replaced.

    Filter Construction

    The filter element supplied has:

    An oval shape
    Pleated filtering material
    Black inner base
    Orange external sealing edge
    Central mounting hole

Before installation compare these areas with the old filter. The new element must fit evenly into the existing Honda air filter housing, and the external sealing edge must not be folded over.

    Filter Replacement

Turn off the engine and wait for it to cool. Before opening the cover, remove grass, dust and other debris from the housing so they do not enter the carburetor intake.

Remove the old filter and clean the inside of the housing with a clean dry cloth. Do not push debris into the intake channel.

Place the new element so that its sealing edge sits evenly around the entire perimeter. Put the existing cover on and fasten it without over-tightening the plastic housing.

After assembly check that the cover closes completely and the filter edge is not pinched on the outside of the housing.
